Summer and Spring Break Camps

Whether looking for community service hours, or seeking out experience in the special needs world, you will leave Hope Hollow with a new friendship and a smile on your face.

OUR MISSION

Hope Hollow Ministries is a year-round camp for children and young adults (ages 5-25) located in Canton, MS. Our campers have been diagnosed with developmental delays resulting from physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

 

Our mission is to provide a place where children & young adults with special needs may enjoy the independence, fellowship and adventure that a camp experience provides as we share Jesus’ love with others.

MINISTRY OVERVIEW

Looking for a way to fill your summer with purpose & new relationships? Hope Hollow Summer Day Camps is the place to be! As a camp for children and young adults with special needs and disabilities, we are always in search for buddies for our campers. That is where you come in; you will have the opportunity to develop long-lasting friendships with our special campers. Throughout the day, going from activity to activity, you will have the opportunity to assist campers with the programs we have going on. From Arts & Crafts, Music, Dance, Horse Rides, Water activities, Gardening, and much more!

GROUP INFORMATION

Hope Hollow Ministries is on a 20-acre lot of land, we have three cabins on our campus, and the largest cabin has two dorm style rooms. With a total of 18 beds, we like to invite church groups, school groups, or groups of any kind to come stay overnight at Hope Hollow’s Campus & volunteer at our camps.


Groups will arrive the Saturday or Sunday prior to camp beginning. There will be training session on Sunday Evening to explain the camp schedule, and for each volunteer to learn about the camper they will be paired with for the week.

If your group is local & would like to come only during the camp hours that is available also.

REQUIREMENTS

INDIVIDUALS

Hope Hollow welcomes volunteers of all ages.  Volunteers younger than 15 years of age must be accompanied by a chaperone during his or her time of service.  A chaperone can accompany up to 7 volunteers under the age of 15.

All volunteers over the age of 18 AND graduated from high school MUST submit a current background check (completed within the last 2 years) to Hope Hollow Ministries prior to serving.   All volunteers 18 or younger who are still in high school must submit a parental consent form. Each volunteer group must have at least 2 adult leaders accompanying the group

GROUPS

Volunteers must be 15 years or older. Each volunteer group must have a minimum of 2 adult leaders (Aged 25+) accompanying the group.

SUMMER CAMP
INFORMATION

Groups arrive on Saturday or Sunday. Sunday afternoon begins orientation and pizza party. Monday through Friday mornings they will need to be ready at 7:30 for the camper's arrival. Campers depart at 3:00. Mission opportunities to help around Hope Hollow as well as other organizations will be available after camp.​ Camps take place Monday-Thursday from 9am-2pm. Volunteers are asked to be at Hope Hollow from 8:00am-3:00pm. It is preferred for volunteers to attend Monday-Thursday, so that they are able to cultivate a relationship with the camper for the week. 

LODGING

Hope Hollow Ministries is on a sprawling, 20-acre lot.  The main cabin has 2 pull-out sofas, a bunk room with a total of 10 beds, 2 full bathrooms that include 2 shower stalls, 2 toilet stalls, and double-sink vanity.  There is also a separate, full bathroom that is ADA approved. 


We invite groups to rent our overnight facility while they volunteer at one of our camps.  Renting the cabin for parties or other recreational use is available throughout the year, except during summer camp sessions. 

 

Toiletries, towels, pillows and blankets or sleeping bags are required.

MEALS

Hope Hollow's overnight cabin has a fully functioning kitchen that includes an oven,  microwave, refrigerator, sink, and coffee maker (coffee grounds and filters will be provided). Our HH Ladies Auxiliary will provide some breakfast items for your group as well. 

TRANSPORTATION

Hope Hollow does not provide transportation. You need to have adequate transportation to and from Hope Hollow.

COST

Please contact us if your group would like to take advantage of our overnight facility for the week during which they are serving with us at Hope Hollow.  The cost for a group to enjoy our overnight cabin is $150 per person.  Overnight groups should plan to arrive at Hope Hollow between 4:30-5:00 pm on the Sunday before camp begins the following day.  Orientation will begin at approximately 5:30 pm to familiarize your group to the property, to our program, and to the children who will be attending camp that week.  Pizza will be provided during orientation.
