MISSION MULLINS
Mullins, SC
Mullins, a town of roughly 5,000 people located in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina (1 hour from Myrtle Beach). It has suffered recently from the loss of industry and disaster. Hurricanes in 2016 and 2018 caused severe flooding and many lost everything. This caused the community to rally together and serve the needs of others through Disaster Response. This spirit of service has continued until today.
Mission Mullins is a service project designed to reach out to those who are hurting in order to share Christ’s love through simple acts of service and expressions of Christian love. We find homeowners, schools and parks in the area to help each year through carpentry, painting, landscaping and other service projects. All skill levels are welcome to help serve others.
DATES
June 9-13, 2025
Monday through Thursday are full work days, with Friday a potential half day of work, if needed. If all work has been finished on Thursday, then we will have breakfast on Friday and the rest of the day can be used for fun or to depart.
Projects include: minor home repairs, light painting, yard work, debris removal, etc. Projects are open to both adults and youth (6th grade and up) as long as you have health insurance.
Volunteers participate from many local and other churches. People have come from Vermont to Florida in order to help. The projects and lodging will be with other groups, which provides a great opportunity to work with other Christians you may have never met. Youth Groups, retirees, local people, parents and community leaders all work shoulder to shoulder.
.
Lodging is available for those interested. There are different options depending on group size and availability. Sheets, towels, pillows, and toiletries not provided.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided on Monday through Thursday. Breakfast and lunch only on Friday. Thursday night is our celebration banquet where we invite all the people we have helped through the week to a catered meal and Gospel presentation. It is an amazing time to see what God has done among us.
